Chip Manufacturing : Chip manufacturing movement is gaining momentum in India. Vedanta Group is all set to set up India’s first semiconductor and display fabs in Gujarat and has tied up with over 100 international suppliers and ancillary industries. It is known that Foxconn recently terminated its chip manufacturing (chip manufacturing in India) deal with Vedanta Group. Vedanta has made this announcement afresh after that.

The chip plant will be set up here

Vedanta Semiconductor and Display Global MD Akshar K. Vedant Group is planning to build India’s first semiconductor and display fab in Dholera Special Investment Zone in Ahmedabad district, Habbar says. Good progress has been made towards adding technology and equity partners in Semiconductors and we will make an announcement soon, Habber said. According to news, the state government has allotted land in Dholera and work is underway to prepare it for fab construction.

Awaiting government approval

At DisplayFab, we have partnered with Innolux and we are ready to grow rapidly with the full support of our partner. The company is currently awaiting government approval on its application under the revised scheme for semiconductor and display fabs. As soon as the approval is received, we will start the construction immediately. According to the company, the Prime Minister will continue on the path to make India self-reliant in electronics.

Vedanta Group Chairman Anil Agarwal recently said that they are 100 percent committed to manufacturing semiconductors (chip manufacturing in India) and display glass in India and have also lined up partners for this. The establishment of the plant was announced. With this, the Gujarat government was hoping to get huge income and employment to a large number of people. The decision of Foxconn has also hit the government of India along with the government of Gujarat. Foxconn issued a statement saying that Foxconn Vedanta, a wholly owned subsidiary, is working towards delisting its name. Foxconn said the company has decided not to go ahead with the joint venture with Vedanta.
