How to update Aadhaar online free till 14th September

UIDAI had announced a scheme to update Aadhaar card free of charge in the month of March. The deadline for completion of the scheme was June 14, 2023. After June 14, there was a provision to charge a fee of Rs 50 for updating the Aadhaar card. But on June 15, UIDAI announced that the time limit for updating Aadhaar card for free has been extended. Now Aadhaar card can be updated free of charge for another three months. UIDAI has announced this on June 15.

UIDAI announced in March that Aadhaar card users will be able to update their Aadhaar card details online for free from March 15 to June 14, 2023. But now this deadline has been extended by announcing again on June 15. Now Aadhaar card users will be able to update their Aadhaar card free of charge till September 14.

If your Aadhaar card is more than 10 years old, you need to get demographic updated in it immediately. According to UIDAI, if your Aadhaar card was issued before 10 years, it is necessary to update the new ID proof and address proof. The special thing is that currently the facility of this update is being given to you completely free. Now after September 14, a fee of Rs 50 will have to be paid for this demographic update.

As per the Aadhaar Card Enrollment Update Regulation Act 2015, Aadhaar card holders have to update their Aadhaar documents once every 10 years. For this the card holders have to upload necessary supporting documents like identity proof, address proof. So that the identity details and address details of Aadhaar users can be latest in Aadhaar card data.

Update Aadhaar card online like this. Follow the steps given below.

Step 1: First of all you have to go to https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/.

Step 2: Later here you have to insert your Aadhaar card details. After which a 6 digit OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number.

Step 3: After inputting OTP you have to select Name/Gender/Date of Birth & Address Update option.

Step 4: Later you have to click on Update Aadhaar Online.

Step 5: Now go to the list of demographic options and click on whatever information you want to update. For example if you want to update an address, click on the address in this list.

Step 6: Here you have to upload the scanned copy for the proof of the updated information.

After doing this, it will take 15 to 30 days to verify the new details. After verification, your details will be updated online. However, whether this will be updated or not depends on the verification of your supporting documents.
