Chandrayaan-2 mission failed
It may be mentioned that, before the Chandrayaan-3 mission, the Chandrayaan-2 mission crashed on the lunar surface in September 2019. Chandrayaan-3 consists of a lander and a rover configuration. It will be launched into a 100 km lunar orbit. The main objective of this mission is to conduct a safe soft landing on the Moon for the mission’s Vikram lander. If ISRO succeeds in doing this, India will become the fourth country in the world to make a soft landing on the Moon. Countries that have achieved this feat include America, Russia and China.
