Sale Days: E-commerce giant Amazon is bringing Prime Day sale on July 15-16. Which the customers are eagerly waiting for. But during this time you need to be very careful. Because, many cyber criminals take advantage of vulnerable consumers who try to buy products at the best price. Check Point, a cyber security firm, has advised users to avoid the three most important scams while shopping at Amazon or Flipkart.

Don’t fall for phishing emails

Check Point advises never to fall prey to phishing emails with cell names. A fraudster sends a phishing email pretending to be from Amazon. According to India Today news, such e-mails are designed to trick users into revealing credit card numbers, Amazon account credentials or other sensitive information. Beware of unwanted emails, double check the email sender ID to avoid phishing scams. Never click on suspicious links.

Fake Amazon related domains

You may encounter fake Amazon domains. A cyber security firm has discovered 1,500 new domains related to Amazon. Notably, most of these domains are designed to trick users into thinking that they are visiting a legitimate Amazon website (Amazon Prime Day sale 2023). Fraudsters trick users into providing personal or financial information by impersonating the official Amazon website. So check URL in address bar to avoid it. Stay away from unknown domains and make sure, you are visiting official website.

A flurry of scam emails and text messages

Amazon has also asked users to be wary of scam emails and text messages during the sale (Amazon Prime Day). These messages can range from shipping information, order confirmation or account issues. Such fake text messages or links are intended to trick users into clicking fraudulent links or providing sensitive information. So shop wisely and carefully during this Amazon sale.
