-200 grams of Kabuli Chana
-4 medium size onions
– 3 medium sized tomatoes
-2 green chillies
-10 cloves of garlic
-1 inch piece of ginger
-2 tsp coriander chopped
-1 tsp red chili
-1/2 tsp turmeric powder
-1 tsp coriander powder
-1 tsp garam masala
-1 tsp amchoor powder
-2 tsp oil
-1 tsp ghee
-Pinch asafoetida
– Salt as per taste

Soak gram in water for 6-7 hours. Then boil it in a pressure cooker with a glass of water and a pinch of salt. Then heat oil or ghee in a pan. Add a pinch of asafoetida and saute for five minutes after adding onion paste. Then add ginger, chilli, garlic paste and saute for two minutes, add tomato puree. Fry it again for five minutes. When the oil separates, add garam masala, amchoor powder, red chillies, turmeric, coriander powder one after the other. Stir for a while and add the boiled chickpeas (if making gravy, add two teaspoons of water). After five minutes of stirring, remove from the gas. Sprinkle chopped coriander on top and cover. Enjoy eating with this hot Punjabi Chana Bhature.
