Maharashtra – Alphonso

Alphonso or Hafus mangoes are well known and come from Ratnagiri, Raigad and Konkan in Maharashtra. This mango is known for its sweetness. It is also the most sold mango variety in India.

Andhra Pradesh- Banganpally



Banganpalli mangoes are pulp and fiberless. It is named after the town of Banganpalla in Andhra Pradesh. Here it is grown to the highest extent. This is the most famous mango of South India.

Uttar Pradesh- Dashahari

It is known as Malihabadi Mango. Dashahari mango is one of the most popular mango varieties from the northern region of India. Malihabad in Uttar Pradesh is the largest producer of this type of mango.

Gujarat – Saffron

The saffron mango juice of Gujarat is very famous. It is also known for its sweet taste, full of pulp and saffron color. Its juice is considered a food in heat.

Karnataka- Totapuri

Totapuri mango is a mango that has a sour-sweet taste. It is very popular in South India. Its pickle is made. It can also be used in salads. This mango is green in color. Its beak is like a parrot’s beak, so it is called Totapuri. It occurs especially in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.

Bihar- Lame

Langda is a well-known breed of North India. This mango was first grown in the garden of a lame man in Banaras. Apart from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, it is also grown in several parts of Madhya Pradesh, Orissa and Punjab.

 

West Bengal- Himsagar and Kishan Bhog

Kishan bhog mangoes are round in shape and luscious in taste. Kishanbhog mangoes are widely sold in West Bengal. It is best known in Murshidabad, West Bengal. Himsagar is also used in making sweets and drinks.

Himachal Pradesh – Chaunsa

Chaunsa is the most popular mango in North India. It is known for its sweet pulp and bright yellow color. It is mainly grown in Pakistan but is also produced in Himachal, Haryana, Rajasthan and other North Indian states.
