The effect of monsoon season is now being seen on vegetables in Godhra city including Panchmahal district. Due to which the kitchen budget of the middle class housewives has been disturbed due to the rise in the price of green vegetables. On the one hand, the prices of petroleum products, cooking gas, oil, spices, etc. have reached the sky. It has become difficult for the middle class families to make a living. In the city of Godhra, since the last two-three days, the effect of monsoon is being seen in the income of green vegetables as Meghraja started showering his thunderous blessings.
The tomato disappeared from the plate along with the green vegetables
The prices of green vegetables have gone up since the onset of monsoon. So even the middle class housewives and the men who run the house have been affected by this waist-breaking inflation and their pockets have started getting burdened by taking vegetables which are considered as daily essentials. Due to this price increase, tomatoes along with green vegetables have disappeared from the Gujarati thali. It will become difficult for the middle class people to enjoy the taste of vegetables, unless the prices of green vegetables come down during the monsoon season, which affects the income of vegetables due to rains.
Tomatoes sold at Rs 20 per kg reached Rs 100 per kg
Tomato prices have skyrocketed due to monsoon. Due to which tomato has disappeared from people’s plates. Potatoes on the other hand. Peas. Flower. Cabbage. carrot. Eggplant. Tuvar. Other vegetables like sing have suddenly become expensive, tomato was currently selling at Rs 20 per kg, which has now gone up to Rs 100 per kg. Ginger, which used to fetch ₹100 a kg, now fetches ₹200 a kg. The price of coriander has gone up to ₹400 a kg, which was earlier ₹100 a kg. The prices of vegetables have increased by about 30 to 45%. As the income of vegetables has decreased, the price of vegetables has increased, thus the budget of the housewives including the public has been disrupted. Earlier, a bag of vegetables was available for 200 rupees. That vegetable now costs 500 rupees. The budget of the housewives has been disrupted as the prices of vegetables have skyrocketed.
