The election schedule for the by-elections to the occasional vacant seats of the Local Self-Government Units Mahanagarpalika and Municipal Corporation has been announced, as per Rajkot City Police Commissioner, where the code of conduct is applicable in the area, there should be a peaceful environment for the entire election process and the election process is concluded with public tranquility. The ban has been imposed till August 8, 2023. After the completion of the election process, the license holders have to get back the deposited weapons.

Three kilos of ganja were seized
Rajkot City SOG Police has arrested an old man from Kalavad Road with three kilos of ganja. After arresting Mukesh Rathore (65) and searching him, police recovered 3 kg 147 grams of ganja from his possession and seized a total of Rs. 36,470 has been seized and legal action has been taken. The arrested accused is retorting that his nephew named Rahul gave him this quantity of ganja for safekeeping one and a half months ago. After getting the ganja for preservation, he buried it in the ground without extracting even one gram of ganja and decided to sell it after one and a half months. However, the SOG raided and nabbed the ganja before it could be sold.

It has come to light that Mukesh Rathore was arrested in the year 2002 in Malvianagar police station for the crime of murder. Apart from this, it has come to light that he has entered the police book for the crime of selling country liquor. At present, the police are also searching for Mukesh Rathore’s nephew Rahul, who gave three kilos of ganja.

Death of 17-year-old minor
A 17-year-old minor, originally from Madhya Pradesh and now living at Metoda GIDC in Rajkot and working in a factory called Khodiyar Plastic, was at the factory at quarter to nine this morning while working in the miller machine while going to see the cake in the running machine. He was declared brought dead on the spot after 108 was informed. The owner of the factory is known to be Vimplabhai Ramani and the deceased used to work in this factory along with his family. The police have moved the body for post-mortem and conducted further investigation.

The body of the young man was found in the well
The body of an unidentified youth was found in a well in front of Shaneshwar Residency in Mavadi village of Rajkot in a bloated condition. A team of taluka police reached the spot after the locals informed the police about the foul smell coming from the well and after that the fire brigade staff took out the body of a young man aged around 35 to 40 years from the well. The height of the deceased youth is around five and half feet. On the right hand of the body, Sri Ramnath is decorated with a trophy and red-green thread is tied in the hand. Apart from this, a yellow metal VT is worn on the thumb of the right hand. While wearing Rudraksha beads in red-orange thread around the neck. At present, the police have moved the body for postmortem and are searching for the guardian of the deceased.
