  • It has been 75 years since the country became independent, but the village roads have not been developed
  • 7. Destruction of a population of 3000 in a village

Many villages in Chhota Udepur taluka are still deprived of basic amenities. Even after 75 years of independence, the paved road from Dhadgam in Chhota Udepur taluk to Bhumsel Sughi has been approved. People are complaining like that. Arguments are also rising among the people as to whose behest the work has stopped. People of seven villages from Dhadagam to Bhumsel Sughi cannot reach the city Sughi on time due to lack of basic facilities.

Dhadagam, Medar Pani, Janiyara, Patel Paliya, Bhumsel and villages around Ghoghadev in the hinterland of Chhota Udepur taluka are not being constructed despite the asphalt road being approved. Such people are making serious complaints. Due to the non-construction of the approved road, the population of around 3000 of these seven villages has to suffer a lot to move. Even if the road is unpaved, the tires of the vehicles get stuck in the mud and many fall and suffer accidents. Amidst the incessant talk of development, the development going on in the inner rural areas of Chhota Udepur does not go unnoticed by the system. It is surprising. At present people are suffering due to lack of basic facilities like electricity, water and roads.

Due to the lack of basic road facilities in sadar villages, it gets very muddy during monsoon. So health related facilities like 108 emergency service cannot reach the sick person easily. In the world of education, a city student can reach school on time. Whereas a poor tribal student from rural areas cannot reach school at the fixed time.

A seriously ill patient has to be carried on a cot while walking to Ghoghadev. Around three thousand people of villages like Dhadagam, Medar Pani, Janiyara, Bhumsel in Chhota Udepur taluka are deprived of road facilities since the last 75 years of independence. When someone falls ill or becomes more serious, Chhota has to be brought to Udaipur for treatment. But services like 108 cannot reach sadar villages in monsoon. So the sick patient has to be taken in a cot to the Ghoghadev Ambulance which is three kilometers away from Suwadi. If something happens to the patient on the way, who will take responsibility for it? That is also something to think about.
