A gang has been busted in Vadodara city for buying AC, TV and fridge by taking loan from finance company by making duplicate Aadhaar card. 5 accused including a woman have been arrested. The gang used to buy items by taking loans and then sell them cheaply. Karelibagh police have seized 9 duplicate Aadhaar cards from the accused. Apart from this, 4 lakh rupees including AC, TV and fridge have been recovered.

DCP Zone-4 Panna Momaya said, 5 individuals were taking loans from different places by making duplicate Aadhaar cards in Karelibag police station area and buying items including AC, TV and fridge and selling the items repeatedly and when the bank staff went for recovery. They did not meet. Fraud was perpetrated by such modus operandi. The police have arrested 5 accused after exposing this gang. 9 duplicate Aadhaar cards have been recovered from all the five accused and 6 mobiles have been seized. Apart from this, 9 ACs, 1 fridge and TV have been seized. Earlier also applications were made by the finance company. So the police had in mind that there is some such activity and some such gang is active. In this regard, a watch has been set up and the gang making duplicate Aadhaar cards has been exposed.

4-6 Aadhaar cards are made in the name of a single person
​​​​​​​They further said that among the five accused, Allarkha alias Allu Noor Muhammad Sheikh had been booked earlier in the year 2019 for making duplicate Aadhaar cards in Panigat and City police stations. Allarkha alias Allu Noor Muhammad Sheikh used to make duplicate Aadhaar card by printing it from his computer and also gave duplicate Aadhaar card to four other accused and those people used to give the duplicate Aadhaar card to the finance company and buy items including AC, TV and fridge from the showroom. About 4 to 6 Aadhaar cards were made in the name of a single person.

He added that, so far, recovery of 4 lakh rupees has been made. In which 9 ACs, 1 fridge and 1 TV have been recovered and still the scam is being investigated by checking all the finance companies. The female accused has issued 3 Aadhaar cards in her name.
