Two online fraudsters caught
The police office reported that Gathiyas obtained OTP through WhatsApp call to close the protection plan in the credit card of Jitendrabhai Dhanjibhai Pankhaniya, who lives at Arambada in Mithapur sub-division of Okha mandal and runs a garage, and through two transactions of Rs 99,000 and Rs 30,000, a total of Rs 1.29 lakh was taken. .
Regarding this serious incident, as per the instruction of Devbhoomi Dwarka District Police Chief Nitesh Pandey, investigation was started in various directions by Cyber Crime Cell Department. By the team of District Cyber Crime Cell, P.I. A.Y. One end of these financial transactions reached Vadodara on the basis of manual and technical surveillance to trace the accused in the operations conducted under the guidance of Bloch. After the exercise in this regard, two persons named Rahul Rameshbhai Parmar (A.D. 31) residing at Waghodia Road, Vadodara and Mohammad Yusuf Syed (A.D. 46) residing at Fateganj were nabbed by the Cyber Crime Cell Department.
During further investigation in this case Rahul Parmar, the accused arrested in this case, has also served jail time in Haryana (Faridabad) for the crime of cyber fraud. In jail he met a man named Satyam from Delhi. So after the friendship between the two in jail, after being released from jail, these two men decided to commit cyber crime. In which they put a dummy customer care number of SBI in Google. Based on the incoming phone calls, they used to get OTP and make transactions and withdraw cash.
For this, the accused Rahul took the help of another accused Muhammad Yusuf of Vadodara and used two accounts of Axis Bank and Bank of Baroda in his name. The accused made a transaction of Rs 10.50 lakh and withdrew this money. In which Rs. 1.29 lakh fraud was also exposed.
Police Wada’s appeal to be careful against cyber fraud… In order to inculcate caution against the increasing online fraud in the age of technology, Nitesh Pandey, district police chief of Devbhoomi Dwarka, asked people to be careful and not to answer any phone calls for bank information and if necessary. Appealed to go to the bank in person to get and give information. Not only this, it has been appealed not to trust any customer care number obtained from Google search and not to share OTP, CVV, secret PIN, etc. If there is a need in this regard, it has also been asked to contact the Devbhoomi Dwarka District Cyber Crime Cell or the nearest police station.
