Thunderstorms started in the city late in the evening amid heavy rain forecast. Heavy rains of up to 1 inch in an hour flooded low-lying areas. Following the rains, the footpath dwellers and the residents of salam areas were left in a miserable condition.
In Vadodara city district, roads were flooded due to rain
Sporadic rains are falling in Vadodara city district since last one week. However, people did not get relief from boils. Meanwhile, people felt relieved from the heat following the rain that started with thunder from late evening. However, due to heavy rain, the markets were closed in the evening. The rain had a major impact on the night food markets.
Rainfall in many parts of the city
Due to the downpour that started in the evening, Panigate, Madvi, Laheripura, Dadiyabazar, Ahmedabadi Pol, Raopura Road, Khodiyar Nagar Char Rasta, station Garanalu, etc. were flooded. The communication between Sayajiganj and Alkapuri area was cut off due to water filling in the station tank. Many areas were flooded.
Due to heavy rains, people were devastated
There were reports of moderate to heavy rains in the district along with Vadodara city. In several talukas of the district, there were reports of waterlogged roads due to heavy rains. It was reported that power supply was disrupted in many villages due to heavy rains. The rain started in the late evening and continued till 11 pm.
