The birthday of Suryaputri Tapi river is celebrated with great faith every year in the city of Surat. Every year, birthday celebrations are organized on different river banks of Tapi. As Mata Tapi is the daughter of Surya, it is seen in the scriptures that anyone who does the penance of Lord Suryanarayan on the banks of Tapi river gets the desired fruit. Today the Surtis celebrated Rangechang Tapi’s birthday. In which the Suryaputri Tapi River was raised to a height of 1100 meters by the Sri Kurukshetra Smashanbhoomi Trust. A large number of devotees were present in this celebration.

This year a 1100 meter long chunddi was offered to Tapi river by the devotees.
