The rain in the forest-covered Dang district subsided yesterday afternoon after the last four days of rain. The rain water was regurgitating on all the roads. All the roads have been opened as the intensity of the rain has subsided. An average of 9 mm of rain has been recorded in Dang district during twelve hours from 6 pm last evening to 6 am this morning.

According to the details received from the District Flood Control Unit, only 11 mm (total 520 mm) at Ahwa, 13 mm (total 513 mm) at Waghai and 4 mm (total 389 mm) at Subir during these 12 hours, giving an average of 9 mm (total) in the district. 474 mm) of rainfall has been recorded. Meanwhile, in Dang district yesterday morning at 8 o’clock, the 12 roads of the district were blocked due to rain water, the traffic has been restored after the rain water receded from all the roads.

The district administration has issued some guidelines to the people, nature lovers, tourists and motorists who come to enjoy the nature of Dang and the pristine beauty here in the rainy weather to avoid any accidents or untoward incidents. According to which, it is prohibited to take dangerous selfie or photography by parking haphazard vehicles anywhere on the public roads, tourist places, waterfalls, hilltops and foothills, valleys, river-channels, lakes or road sides of the district.

Apart from this, besides not giving food to the wild animals contrary to their nature, it has also been appealed to be aware of the reptilian creatures roaming freely in the forest area, violent wild animals. In case of rainwater inundation over low level cause-ways or stepped roads, such routes, instead of using bridges, have been appealed to use alternate routes suggested by the system. It is also requested to immediately inform the District Disaster Control Room (02631-220347) if there is any debris blocking the road including trees, cliffs, black rocks due to rain, or any dangerous equipment like power poles and wires have fallen.
