There has been a demand by the Valmiki community for a long time with the demand for permanent recruitment of cleaners in Rajkot city. Also, if this demand is not satisfied, a five-day dharna has been started from yesterday near the statue of Babasaheb. Then today, on the second day of the dharna, one of the leaders sitting on the dharna fell ill and was shifted to the civil hospital. Where crowds of scavengers had gathered. And there were slogans of ‘stop stop blood-sucking’ and ‘Jai Bheem Jai Bheem’. On this occasion, the leader of Valmiki Samaj, Paras Bedia, said that if anything happens to us, the responsibility will be with the system.
Rajkot Safai Kamdar Union President Paras Bedia told Divyabhaskar that Valmiki Samaj has not been recruited in Manpa for the last 26 years. By filing a complaint in this regard, we warned the system that if our issue is not resolved in the coming days, we will stage a dharna. Under which we have started a 5-day dharna near Babasaheb Pratima from yesterday. However, among the 10 leaders who were sitting on this dharna, one of the leaders named Gaurav Bhanubhai Gohel fell ill due to extreme heat. And he has now been shifted to Civil Hospital due to chest pain.
He further said that even though we are sitting on dharna in 45 degrees, the water in the belly of the system is not moving. And no official or official came to listen to us. In the coming days, whatever happens to any leader sitting on this dharna will be the sole responsibility of the system and the ruling party. And all the members of our union besides all the people belonging to the Valmiki Samaj will sacrifice themselves and try to rouse the government.
It may be mentioned that permanent recruitment of cleaners in Rajkot Municipal Corporation has not been done for a long time. After repeated representations by the Valmiki Samaj regarding this, permission was first sought for the dharna at the municipal office. However, after not getting this permission, 10 leaders have started a dharna near the statue of Babasaheb. In which today the health of one of the leaders is failing, a feeling of great anger is being seen among the people of Valmiki society. And if something happens to a leader, the cry of self-destruction has been uttered.
