Twelve Megh Khangas have occurred in Gir Somnath district. It has been raining heavily in the city and talukas for the last 24 hours. River channels are flooded. Water entered residential houses in some villages. Then the road connecting these two villages on the border of Somnath and Junagadh districts was flooded again. So both the villages became out of touch. At that time, Divya Bhaskar’s team reached ground zero before the system and took stock of the situation in these two villages. Then the elders of the village say that we have seen such scenes for the first time after 1986. People who have received more than 20 inches of rain in the last 24 hours are facing severe hardship.

4 to 5 feet of water filled the road
Seemar and Sukhpur village lost contact due to rain. As the water is receding after the rain has stopped, it is now possible to walk on foot. At Gadu village, people are going to buy essentials. When it rained, 4 to 5 feet of water filled the road leading to these two villages. People have to be careful due to the forecast of heavy rain. Even then the system has not yet reached the people of this village.

The road remained closed for 10 hours
When Divya Bhaskar’s team spoke to Karsan Parmar, a native of Seemar village, he said that water has filled up next to the animal care center, this water is a wakla known as Kharwala wakla. For 24 hours, the two villages with water flowing here have lost contact. Due to which people are not moving. The road was closed for 10 hours, but now it is possible to walk after the water recedes. No vehicle can pass. Bikers are passing at risk. At present, no damage is seen in the village, but after the water recedes, the damage in the farm can be known. According to the rain forecast, it is raining. Approximately 20-22 inches of rain is expected to have fallen in the last 24 hours.

Heavy loss in coconut and groundnut crops
Pravin Dodiya, a native of the village, said that in the last 24 hours, both the villages of Seemar and Sukhpur have become out of touch. The night light is gone. Seemaral village is located in Gir Somnath district and Sukhpur village is located in Junagadh district. Water comes from many seams here. The system has been proposed several times by the villagers to make the causeway higher. However, the causeway has been built higher. Another thing is that there is an animal care center where animals like lions, leopards are treated. The wall of which has also collapsed. At present, coconut and groundnut crops are the most cultivated crops. In which the condition of coconut will be known after the flood recedes, but groundnut has been completely destroyed. At that time 22nd rain has been predicted, so the groundnut crop is negligible for the farmers. 5 to 6 thousand people live in these two villages. Who could not move within the last 10 to 12 hours.

Silodar village pool broke
One side of the (saline) pool of Silodar village in Keshod was broken. So the road from Silodar to Keshod is also closed. Eight days ago, the village people had also presented the system to the bridge. Panakhan, Revdra village of Keshod has received heavy rain and here in Revdra village people have been rescued with the help of local people after water entered the residential houses. In Revdra village, grain, household goods, goods and vehicles have been submerged in water as water seeped into the houses.
