A family has set a new example of organ donation to the society by donating a heart, liver, two kidneys and two eyes to a private hospital on SG Highway in the city, brightening the lives of several others. Within 24 hours of being brain dead, the woman’s heart was transplanted into a 50-year-old woman admitted to UN Mehta Hospital.

Had a sudden brain stroke last Friday night
Jaideep Thakkar K, who is a lawyer by profession, living in Rajdhani Bungalows in Isanpur area of ​​Ahmedabad, was sitting at home last Friday night when his wife Vidhiben suddenly suffered a brain stroke and fell on the ground after feeling dizzy. As soon as vomiting started, they were immediately shifted to a private hospital in Maninagar for treatment in 108. The next day, SG was shifted to a private hospital on the highway for further treatment. Even after five days of treatment, his life could not be saved and he was declared brain dead.

The most important and rare donation in organ donation
The doctors of the private hospital explained to them the importance of organ donation through counselling, and how one decision of theirs could save many lives. So the family members got together and agreed for organ donation in the interest of giving new life to another needy patient. Jaideepbhai’s family consented to the donation of the organ, the most important and the rarest of which was the heart, along with a liver, two kidneys and two eyes.

After discussing with the family, it was decided to donate the wife’s organs
Jaideep Thakkar said in a conversation with Divya Bhaskar that on Friday night my wife was admitted to the hospital after suffering a brain stroke. After five days of treatment, doctors declared him brain dead. Having lost a relative, but realizing that if her organs can give another person a new life, nothing can be better and after discussing with the family, I decided to donate my wife’s organs. My wife’s nature was also more to help other persons, due to which we decided to do this organ donation even after thinking about it and we have done organ donation of two eyes, kidney, liver and heart. After deciding to donate organs on Thursday, Vidhiben’s heart was donated to UN Mehta Hospital as a 50-year-old woman was in need of a heart for a heart transplant. Within 24 hours, another woman was given a new life with the woman’s organ donation.
