Incidents of drains and manholes getting choked up due to overflowing of garbage including gaba-ducha and various types of medical waste from the underground drains of Patan city keep coming to light every night. But the water pumping machinery and pumps of the municipality-owned water filter plant near Siddhi Sarovar in Patan, which supplies Narmada-based clean drinking water to Patan, also get stuck in the vegetable waste, and the power of water pumping pumps and machinery etc. is weakened.

A similar incident has happened in the intake well of Patan’s filter plant and this machinery or cleaning was also used earlier to remove the waste. But at that time waste could be removed only from two pumps. While in order to remove waste from the remaining two pumps, the Patan municipality suspended the water supply to the city for the operation of the plant. When the garbage was removed from this cleaning-machinery, grass-twigs-pieces of cloth etc. were found in it.

This waste is dumped in the Siddhi Lake of Patan by cutting a path of about two to two and a half km through the Narmada water canal coming from Khorsam of Chansma in Padmanath Junction of Patan. And that water is pumped by a machine pump and pumped into the intake well for purification. In this water, such impurities get trapped in the machinery from the canal itself.
