Surat Crime Branch team nabs most wanted accused Bhupat Ahir from Mumbai
Gujarat’s most wanted and notorious criminal Bhupat Ahir alias Bhupat Baharwatia has been arrested from Mumbai in a secret operation by Surat Crime Branch. In the past, the accused did not hesitate to fire at the police to avoid his arrest. Meanwhile, the Surat Crime Branch team has arrested him after a 4-day long undercover operation. It was revealed that Bhupat Ahir, who turned to crime at the age of 12, had more than 35 serious crimes in his past. To catch Bhupat, the Surat Crime Branch team wore a foreign tourist disguise, i.e. Bermuda, T-shirt.
Bhupat reduced his weight by 10 kg
As Bhupat was Ahir Khunkhar, the crime branch had changed a special disguise. Crime Branch PSI Vishal Dhangar and his team grew beards. Apart from this, he dressed up as a foreign tourist by wearing funky shoes and bermuda shorts. Bhupat Ahir has also fired at the police earlier. Then the police had to be very careful to catch him. When Bhupat came forward, the crime branch was not able to identify whether it was Bhupat or not. Even the police could not recognize Bhupat at first as he lost 10 kg and changed his hair to black instead of white. However, as soon as it was confirmed, Bhupat was handcuffed and arrested by PSI Vishal Dhanagar at Borivali. Even Bhupat Ahir was surprised by such an operation by the police.
Bhupat Ahir was returning to Mumbai
The Surat Crime Branch team received information that Bhupat Ahir alias Bhupat Baharwatia is moving in Mumbai. Based on the information, the police formed different teams. So the police conducted a secret operation for 4 days and finally nabbed the accused Bhupat Ahir. Earlier, day and night efforts were made in Rajasthan, Bihar etc. by the Surat City Crime Branch to nab Satir Bhupat Ahir. But he was not touched. Meanwhile, the team of Surat Crime Branch has quickly nabbed the accused from Mumbai.
A diamond merchant was killed in Varachha
Last year on 13/09/2022 at noon, Praveenbhai Bhikhabhai Nakum, who had a diamond office in Matawadi Kamalpark Society in Varachha, was killed by tying both his hands with a lace belt in his own office. The Surat Crime Branch team arrested Girishbhai alias Gaurav Dahyabhai Nakum and Ashish Dhanjibhai Gajipara in this crime. In his interrogation, it was revealed that accused Girish Nakum had a diamond office close to Praveenbhai’s office. He was carrying out diamond business with him for 9 months.
Praveenbhai was hit on the head with a pipe
So he knew that Pravinbhai’s office had cash and diamonds worth 10 to 12 lakhs and with the intention of earning money, he gave a tip to Bhupat Ahir to rob Pravinbhai’s office. So Bhupat Ahir entered Praveenbhai’s office along with Ashish Gajipara and later Ashish Gajipara held Praveenbhai. When Bhupat Ahir hit Praveenbhai on the head with the iron pipe he had, tied his hands and feet and ran away after looting diamonds and cash worth around three lakh rupees from his office. In this incident, Bhupat Ahir was away from the police.
He was committing crime from the age of 12
Police said that the accused had been involved in crime ever since he was twelve years old in the year 1979. At present his age is 56 years and the accused has committed serious crimes like theft, robbery, raid, kidnapping, Arms Act, assault, extortion, threat. He has been arrested for more than 35 serious crimes in the past.
The police had been working to catch the accused for 10 months
Surat Crime Branch P.I. Lalit Vegdia said that the police team was working to nab the accused for the last 10 months. Meanwhile, as soon as we got the information that the accused was in Mumbai, a secret operation was conducted and he was picked up from the railway station. The accused committed his first theft in his village at the age of 12, ever since then he has been addicted to crime. The accused used to wear different disguises. No one stayed in one place for more than 10 to 15 days. Besides, he did not hesitate to attack when the police went to arrest him.
