The Patan Judicial Court convicted the father and son in the case of firing in the air during a religious event in 2010, 14 years ago in Mehmedpur village of Patan taluka. The son was sentenced to three years simple imprisonment and Rs. 5000 and sentenced the father to simple imprisonment of six months and a fine of Rs. 2000. Sentencing the Chief Judicial Magistrate of Patan A.S. Punishment will deter people from committing such crimes in the future and will maintain the trust the society has in the judiciary. So to set a precedent, when the crime is proved under these clauses, the benefit of probation is not considered to be given to the accused.
Public Prosecutor C.L. To prevent this activity in the society, the tailor submitted that the act of the accused does not deserve light punishment so that he should be punished accordingly and presented the judgment of the Supreme Court. The details of this case are that, dt. On 7-4-2010 at 10-30 am near the bus stand of Memdpur village of Patan taluka, around 3000 people gathered to welcome the then Patan taluka Congress President Kanjibhai Motibhai Desai in Shatchandi Yajna, as the then Union Minister of Congress Bharat Singh Solanki and the then Member of Parliament Jagdish Thakor were to come to welcome them. Maganbhai Rabari of the village had allowed his son Hargovanbhai Rabari to use the majarload two-barreled licensed gun in the field of men, despite not having a firearms license, and Hargovanbhai kept his father’s weapon in his possession and fired in the air in public despite the fact that he did not have a firearms license.
At the time of this incident and the then PI who was in the police station. R.V. Mihor registered an Arms Act complaint against the father and son. As the case went on in the Chief Judicial Court of Patan, Magistrate A.S. Gohel awarded the above sentence.
