Rajkot Rural SOG Police after arresting Rajkot youth Vishal Padiya from Jasdan with Rs 3.44 lakh cash notes, while on remand, the arrested youth has confessed to passing Rs 500 to Rs 1.5 lakh cash notes in different places in the last two months. After first seizing 30 Jalini notes of Rs 500, the police searched the accused’s house at Rajkot and found 18 notes of Rs 500 and 160 notes of Rs 2000, totaling Rs 3.44 lakh.
Police investigation started regarding fake notes
The accused Vishal, who was arrested during the two-day remand, confessed before the police that he had started the business of printing Jalinotes for the last two months to clear the bad debts of the bangle factory. 2000 and 500 currency notes were made. After the 2000 Jalinote was created, the 2000 Jalinote itself could not be surpassed as the 2000 note was banned by the RBI. However, one and a half to two lakh jalinotes of Rs.500 were passed in the Angadia firm of Rajkot. As the police still suspect that Vishal passed fake notes of one and a half to two lakhs of Rs.500 in two months, they suspect that he passed more fake notes, so the police have started an investigation into how many fake notes were passed in some Angadia firms of Rajkot city and district.
