The fact that drug trafficking has now expanded to urban areas in Kutch is evident from the complaints being registered at the police office. After five accused were arrested from Madhapar three days ago with a huge quantity of valuable heroin, last night SOG team picked up Krishna Chhotelal Nawalsingh Verma, originally from Uttar Pradesh, residing at Highway Hotel in Kanmer, Hal Rapar, from Zero Point Circle in Mundra, based on a tip-off and recovered Rs. 2.7 grams of heroin worth 1.35 lakhs was seized.

Sher assured the police that he had brought this quantity of drugs from Lovepreet Singh Jat, a resident of Punjab Dhaba, for sale. Action under NDPC Act has been taken against the accused at Mundra Police Station. When the LCB raided a hotel near Kanmer on the Samkhiyali Adesar highway, further investigation was conducted.

In the West Kutch division, two incidents of drug peddlers being nabbed in the same week have been registered by the police office, but the police are still conducting further investigation in this matter. Somewhere in Kutch now there are indications that drug circulation is also increasing. However, it is coming to light that a vigilant police department is constantly trying to curb this kind of drug addiction. SOG, PI VV Bhola, ASI Dinesh Gahvi, Rajak Sota, Chetansih Jadeja, Gopal Gahvi, Mahipatsinh Solanki and Head Constable Darshan Rawal of Mundra police joined the operation at Mundra.
