Scattered showers are falling on Saturday afternoon amid the forecast of heavy rains by the Meteorological Department. The rain had cooled the atmosphere. However, the residents of the city were forced to keep the AC and fans running in offices, shops and houses as the chaos continued. Heavy rains were predicted by Meteorological Department and Astronomers. However, heavy rains in Gandhinagar for the past two days have not given relief to the city dwellers from the unbearable stress amid the forecast of torrential rains since 7th July.

After Saturday afternoon, the black Dibang clouds gathered in the sky, and the hope of heavy rain was raised among the townspeople. However, instead of torrential rain, scattered showers continued throughout the day. Although it rained in some parts of the city, some parts remained dry. Due to this, there was a cooling effect in the atmosphere of the town due to the rain showers. However, due to the heat, the residents of the town were forced to keep the AC or fans running in the offices, shops, and houses of the town.

During the day, rain showers dropped barely half an inch. However, rain showers will bode well for farmers who are planting monsoon kharif crops. As it is the first germination stage of planting now, light rains provide the necessary water and nutrients to plants and crops.
