Rajkot City Police Commissioner issued a notification yesterday (July 16) prohibiting the movement of luxury buses only from Punitnagar Tanka to Madhapar Chowk from 8.00 am to 9.00 pm. A feeling of anger is being seen among travel managers regarding this announcement. Regarding this, representations were made to Rajkot MP Mohan Kundaria and MLA Ramesh Tilala today by the travel managers. In which Tilala has assured to solve this issue properly.

Government vehicles, dumpers and trucks allowed to move
According to travel association officials, private bus operators were given the option to stand on the 150-feet ring road from Punitnagar Tanka to Madhapar Chowk amid the announcement of a ban on luxury buses. which has been closed by the Commissioner of Police. However, other government vehicles, dumpers and trucks have been allowed to ply on this road. Hence this matter is unfair to the operators of private luxury buses.

Rickshaw fare Rs. Increased from 40 to 150!
All the luxury buses have now been diverted on the new 150 feet ring road. Due to this, the distance to the passengers has increased and the rickshaw fare has increased drastically. Earlier the rickshaw fare used to be Rs.30 to 40, but now the rickshaw fare has become Rs.150. It is especially important then that luxury buses are allowed to pick up and drop at their original location.

Launch of KKV Bridge in two days
He further said that until now there was a traffic problem due to the work of KKV bridge. However, now the work of this bridge has also been completed and it will be inaugurated in a day or two. Hence now the traffic problem will be eased automatically. He is also going to submit a letter of complaint to the city police commissioner on this issue tomorrow. In the meeting held today, it was decided that if this issue is not resolved at the earliest, the travel managers will start a fight in the coming days.

Notice of CP considering traffic problem
In this regard, MLA Ramesh Tilala said, considering the traffic problem faced by the people, a notification has been issued by the Police Commissioner. The representations of the Travel Managers have been received. We will hold a meeting with the Police Commissioner so that people do not face any problem and try to resolve the travel operators’ complaint. Then there is any change in this announcement due to the presentation of the MLA and travel managers or the same announcement remains unchanged. Only time to come will tell.
