In Saurashtra, including Rajkot, heavy vehicles are running recklessly with overloads due to which many accidents occur. Three days ago, after a medical girl died in an accident after being hit by a dumper in Rajkot, the Rajkot traffic police took action against heavy vehicles running erratically and detained 42 vehicles in two days.

Detained 42 vehicles in two days
On the instructions of Rajkot City Police Commissioner Raju Bhargava, action was taken by the traffic ACP against the dumper running recklessly by driving a special drive. A total of 42 trucks were detained in this traffic drive for two days with over speed and overloaded goods. All the detained vehicles were kept at the traffic police’s towing station at Sheetal Park. Special instructions have been given to the traffic department to continue this traffic drive against heavy vehicles.

It is worth mentioning that water tankers are running in many areas in Rajkot city. When these water tankers are running at over speed in urban areas, action must also be taken against them. Because otherwise these tankers can also cause someone’s accidental death. If this drive, which has been going on for two days, is made stronger and strict checking is done, the accidents and fatal incidents involving dumpers and trucks can be reduced. Therefore, taking this decision, this drive should be maintained permanently and periodic checking should also be done by the officials.
