Lord Jagannath went on a Nagar yatra with sister Subhadra and brother Balaram from 2 places in Selvasam of Dadra Nagar Haveli of Sangha Pradesh adjacent to Valsad district. Rath Yatra was started by worshiping and aarti by the guests present. Rath Yatra has been organized grandly with great fanfare for many years. A large number of leaders of Hindu organizations and devotees joined the Rath Yatra in large numbers. The whole Selwas Panthak was resounding with the sound of Jai Ranchhod Makkar Chor, Jai Kanaiya Lalki Hathi Ghoda Palkhi.

A grand Jagannath Lord Rath Yatra is organized every year by 2 different committees from Selvas of Dadra Nagar Haveli, adjacent to Valsad district, on the occasion of Ashadi Bija. One of which is the Yatra Jalaram Mandir Bavisa Paliya Jagannath Seva Samiti organizes Rath Yatra. And the second Rath Yatra was taken out by the Baldevi Jagannath Cultural Samiti. At the beginning of Lord Jagannath’s Nagar Charya, the Lord was seated in the chariot and the dignitaries performed aarti to the Lord and started the Rath Yatra. The yatra started from Bavisa Paliya, passed through Kilwani Naka, Zhanda Chowk, Amli Gayatri Mandir and passed through various main roads and areas of the city and later stopped at Naroli Rond Gulmohar Hall. Mahaprasad is also organized that evening.

Samarvarani Jagannath Temple will return the idols of Lord Jagannath sister Subhadra and brother Balarama to the temple another Yatra which left from Baldevi. It will stop at the Samarvarani Panchayat Hall where various religious programs will be organized and later the idols of Lord Jagannath sister Subhadra and brother Balraj will be taken back to the Baldevi temple. In this Rath Yatra, a team of scout guides served as volunteers who did various services including traffic control. Arrangement was seen after 2 years of corona period, despite the heavy rains, enthusiasm was seen among future devotees during the Rath Yatra.
