Second round of rain is currently going on in the state. Meghmehr is going on in many districts of the state including Saurashtra-Kutch. The weather department has predicted heavy rain in many districts of the state for the next two days. Today, Abdasa of Kutch received 4 inches of rain in 2 hours. Abdasa received 96 mm, Morbi 44 mm, Aravalli 40 mm Bhiloda and Dhansura 35 mm. Rain was reported in 55 talukas of the state till now from 6 am today. It is raining in Ahmedabad city. Also, it has been raining universally since this morning in Kutch district. Rain will continue in most of the districts today. Pipes and sheets of 8 to 10 houses were blown away in Motiber of Abdasa. Yesterday evening suddenly the weather turned very stormy and it rained heavily with lightning.
Heavy rains accompanied by heavy winds in Abdasa
Motiber of Kutch’s Abdasa witnessed a sudden change in weather yesterday evening and heavy rains accompanied by lightning strikes. In Motiber of Abdasa, the pipes and sheets of 8 to 10 houses were blown away due to strong winds along with the rain. As a result, the people of Motiber village had to face a lot of hardship. Rain has arrived in Bhuj, Gandhidham, Anjar, Bhachau, Rapar area. Only Rapar taluk of the district has recorded the lowest rainfall of 50 percent of the season, where the flowing rain water has brought joy to the people. Rain has also arrived in Mandvi area. It rained early in the morning at Nalia, the headquarters of Abdasa.
Rain with gusty winds in Rapar
In the early morning of Rapar, water flowed in the city areas due to heavy downpour. There was happiness among the farmers who received one to two inches of rain in the villages along the highway in Big Rav, Jesda, Suvai, Ramwav, Prathal areas of the taluka. In Khengarpar village of taluka, there was heavy rain for an hour between 7 and 8 in the morning after light showers during the night and the streets were flooded with water.
Jesda village of Rapar taluka was hit by heavy wind this morning. Because of this, a house in Jesada wadi area was blown away along with the roof pipe. So the house owner has suffered a huge loss. Also, a girl has also been injured in Udel Varon. About an inch of rain fell in Jesda and surrounding areas. A few times the wind speed was high and in some places the trees were uprooted and in some places the pillars were also found to be bent.
Rainfall in Jamnagar city and countryside
According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, Jamnagar was declared on red alert. So there is a possibility of very heavy rain. Then the rain has arrived since early morning. Jamnagar and rural areas received more than one and a half inches of rain between 6 am and 10 am.
Rainfall in Aravalli
Dhansura in Aravalli received 1.5 inches of rain in half an hour. So the low lying areas were flooded. Apart from this, it has rained in Bhiloda and Modasa as well.
Arrival of rains in Junagadh district
Rains have also arrived in Junagadh district. It has rained in Manavdar and Malia Hatina of the district. One inch in two hours in Manavadar while half an inch of rain in two hours in Malia Hatina. In rural areas, the farmers are seeing a happy atmosphere as the rains are favorable for the crops.
Rain started in Ahmedabad from last night
According to the forecast of the meteorological department in the state, the city of Ahmedabad has been receiving torrential rain for the last two days. Universal rain is falling in all four talukas of Gandhinagar district during the last twenty four hours. After scattered rain during the day yesterday, the downpour started late in the evening with lightning. After which universal rain is falling slowly. Due to which the district has received 26.45 mm of rain till 6 am in the last 24 hours.
Universal rains in Kutch
It has been raining universally since morning in Kutch. It is raining slowly including district headquarters Bhuj. Rapar taluka, which has the least rainfall, has also received light rain since this morning. It has rained in the rural areas including Adesar, Khodarar, Bhangera of the taluka, while four inches of rain has fallen in the Nalia area of Abdasa taluka since last night till late night.
Arrival of rains in Patan district
Rainy weather has been observed in Patan district since early morning following the forecast of Meteorological Department. In the meantime, rain had arrived in the rural areas including Radhanpur, it has started raining with thunder. Since early morning there were black clouds.

5 inches rained the most in Jamnagar yesterday
Between 6 am and 4 pm yesterday, 5 inches of rain fell in Jamnagar, 2 and a half inches in Bhuj, 2 and a half inches in Harij in Patan, and 2 and a half inches in Veraval in Gir Somnath. Two inches of rain fell in Harij in two hours and water was filled everywhere. Due to heavy rains in Jamnagar, the roads were flooded. In Kutch’s Bhuj and Nakhtrana yesterday, rainwater gushed out on roads and Nakhtrana became a hill station.
Two inches of torrential rain in two hours in Harij
Harij of Patan district received two inches of rain in two hours, while Sami received one inch of rain. Half an inch of rain fell in Siddapur as well. Rains also arrived in Radhanpur, Saraswati and Shankeshwar. Half an inch of rain fell in Santalpur. There were showers in Patan city as well. Due to the rain, the low-lying areas were flooded, due to which motorists and pedestrians had to face hardships.
Ghodapur in Gagdia river
Amreli district is witnessing rainy conditions throughout the day, due to heavy rains in the uplands, the Gagdia river in Lathi town has overflowed. Due to heavy flooding in Gagdia river, the water flow is passing over the Sat causeway, so the traffic has been completely stopped. This is the second time flood situation has occurred in Gagdia river during monsoon season.
Nalia-Narayan Sarovar road closed
Nalia-Narayan Sarovar road was closed due to heavy rain. Also, when the river near Chakrai of Lakhpat taluka flowing on two banks of Guhar Papadi, the freighters transported milk in the morning with cans of milk in between the flowing water of this river. It has been raining heavily since morning in Bhuj. The road in front of Bhuj’s GK Hospital became one-way traffic due to waterlogging.
