At that time, various organizations of all the tribal communities of Gujarat protested by closing Swayambhu markets in the areas of KhedBrahma, Poshina and Vijayanagar talukas of Sabarkantha district in support of the bandh announcement given on Sunday.

After the video of the rape and murder of a woman went viral, various organizations of tribal society in the state of Gujarat condemned the incident and announced a bandh on Sunday. In support of this, shops and businesses were shut down in KhedBrahma, Poshina, Lambadia, Vijayanagar areas of Sabarkantha district and protested. Adivasi community leaders and nine youths appealed to the shopkeepers to keep their shops closed. The police also made constant police patrols and tight security to prevent any untoward incident following the bandh announcement.
