There was outrage among the residents as contaminated drinking water was coming to Dharampura government colony area near Khedana Nayaka for three months. More than 100 people of 25 houses were afraid of getting sick due to contaminated water. Water of Vatrak group water supply scheme has been reaching within 17 villages of Kheda taluka for the last 20 years.

The water that has been coming to the government colony in Dharampur under Nayaka has been dirty and contaminated for the past three months, causing distress to the residents. According to the local residents, we have been forced to drink this water for the last three months, although the water coming for three months is not fit to drink. There are about 25 houses in the settlement.

For the past three months, the contaminated and dirty water has been spreading disease among the local residents. People have to use this water for washing and drinking. The residents said that this problem has arisen due to leakage in the water supply line for the past long time. At that time, the water supply officials did not even visit the site for solving this problem. When we present to them, the clerk keeps on pretending that there is leakage from the front in such a line and that the work is going on.

But the contaminated water is not disposed of. After informing the health department by the residents of the area, the Nayaka health department team conducted a household survey. In which on Saturday, the locals filled contaminated water in bottles and reached Nayaka PSC Center to give it to the medical officer.

The health department sent the contaminated water to the laboratory at the district health office for bacteriological and chemical testing. At that time, the residents threatened to file an appeal to the Mamlatdar as the contaminated water would not be disposed of at the earliest. Keur Shah, assistant water supply engineer at Matar, said that the line is 20 years old and has leakages, causing contaminated water. At present we have taken the water samples and the work to stop the leaking line is going on, which will be completed soon.
