In Valsad’s Magod Gram Panchayat, the D.Sarpanch has been sent a show cause notice to a BJP woman member of the Zilla Panchayat regarding the payment made to her contractor brother in the case of malpractice in the contract and payment of panchayat works.

After the action of canceling the membership of Da.Sarpanch Kiran Halapati of Magod Gram Panchayat, TDO has now sent a show cause notice to his wife and Zilla Panchayat member Sunitaben Kiranbhai Halapati in the same case. Investigation was assigned to TDO. In which the Panchayat works were paid to the contract agency related to the Day Sarpanch by the extension officer, after presenting the report to the TDO, the TDO removed the Day Sarpanch from membership in this chapter.

In this case Sunitaben Halapati, wife of Day Sarpanch and BJP member of Zilla Panchayat, since she was elected as a member, her brother’s agency was paid by the panchayat by presenting the bills of Magod Panchayat works. DDO Manish Gurwani has issued a show cause notice and given 7 days time to present. After removing the sarpanch from membership, a show cause notice has also been sent to his wife and BJP member from Parnera seat of G.P.

An explanation will be sent to the Commissioner
Earlier in this chapter, after taking action against the D.Sarpanch of Magod, his wife and the member of the G.P. since the time he was elected as a member, the panchayat works were paid in the name of his brother. As an elected member, relatives cannot be given any benefit. In this matter, wife Sunitaben Halapati has been given a show cause notice and has sought an explanation. As the authority to take decision in this case lies with the Development Commissioner, the explanation of the notice will be sent to the Commissioner. > Manish Gurwani, DDO
