Gujarat was at the center in June 2022, a year before the political upheaval in Maharashtra. The high-voltage political drama that unfolded at this time grabbed the attention of the entire country and the political game went on for more than a week. Sometimes there is moisture on the ground, but if you dig inside, you get bare soil, same is the case in politics. In June, around 30 rebel Shiv Sena MLAs from the Maharashtra government camped out at the La Meridien hotel in Surat, after which the BJP formed a government with the Shinde faction, crowning Eknath Shinde as chief minister. At this time Devendra Fadnavis was made Deputy Chief Minister instead of Chief Minister and everyone wondered why this happened? However, the script of that political drama is coming out now.
On 2 July 2023, NCP leader Ajit Pawar ditched his uncle Sharad Pawar for the second time and joined the BJP-Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) along with 8 senior MLAs. All this was done in just one hour. As much as the NDA was quick to make Ajit Pawar and his MLAs as ministers, it also quickly separated Ajit Pawar from the NCP. Giving the reason behind this, senior journalist Govind Wakde says, ‘The Shinde group has separated from the Shiv Sena and formed a separate party. The Supreme Court is yet to decide on the petition seeking disqualification of 16 of its MLAs. It is believed that this decision will go against the Shinde group. After this, the membership of the remaining 40 MLAs of the Shinde group may also be cancelled. This will reduce the current government to a minority and may yet again bring about a major change in Maharashtra. To avoid this, BJP offered Ajit Pawar to join the government. Thus, the departure of Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde is also being discussed and the BJP high command may make Fadnavis the Chief Minister. Now understanding why Fadnavis would have quietly accepted the post of Deputy Chief Minister at that time.
Why all of a sudden the leaders who were trusted by Sharad Pawar including Ajit Pawar, Chhagan Bhujbal and Praful Patel revolted? Who carried out this entire operation from BJP and why? Who did Sharad Pawar trust heavily? What is going on in the NCP now and what caused the breakdown? To know about all these matters, Divya Bhaskar had an exclusive conversation with NCP supremo Sharad Pawar and Gujarat NCP state president Jayant Bosky.
Why did Ajit Pawar leave?
Why did Ajit Pawar leave and what will be the strategy? Talking about it, NCP supremo Sharad Pawar told Divya Bhaskar that he has to be asked, only he can tell. Strategy is a bit of a no-brainer. We will work hard to strengthen the party. It has started from today.
Ajit tells Pawar about ED’s fear, I won’t say anything about it. When Ajit Pawar asked why he did this for the second time in a row, he said that he should be asked.
‘Straight point is there is no way so break the strong ally’
What is the reason behind this when the local NCP leaders say that the BJP is not getting seats in double digits in the survey? Regarding that, Sharad Pawar said that, the direct thing is that there is no way, so break the strong ally, divide him, the way people were anchored in Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena. The idea will be to weaken the opposition party.
Is Sharad Pawar persuading those who have left the party?
How do you convince people that they are gone? Regarding that, the NCP supremo said that they do not convince anyone or do anything against anyone. We will go among the people to strengthen the party. Let’s see what will happen. Let’s see what happens in the Lok Sabha. What is your stand? That said, the media is called a little strategy.
Who carried out this entire operation in BJP?
Talking about who carried out this entire operation in BJP, Jayant Boski told Divya Bhaskar that this operation was carried out by the central leadership of BJP and Devendra Fadnavis. He constantly kept a watch on Maharashtra as the RSS could not get into double figures in the Lok Sabha as per the IB survey. For the last 15 days, the IB survey was going on that Karnataka-like situation will happen in Maharashtra and like last time it got 38-40 seats in double figures, it will not come this time because Uddhav Thackeray is on one side, Congress is on the other side and Sharad Pawar is on the third side. There has been a survey that all the three are going to organize and contest the elections. The current CM can’t do anything, the people are confused, officials say that we don’t know what to do. Sanjay Raut also said that Shinde will not be CM in 24 hours so he has raised NCP. I will take my decision after my stand is clear or who has the symbol.
‘Don’t trust them, they will come back tomorrow’
Who is responsible for the breakdown in NCP and how? Regarding that, former MLA Boski says that Ajit Pawar is responsible because he has got power all the time. Given the post of Deputy CM. Sharad Pawar has given a free hand. This is the second time this has been done. Once took oath at 8 am. Don’t trust them, they will come back tomorrow. Today one MP, 8-10 MLAs are back in the camp. There will still be many operations. People are afraid that Pawar Sahib will not let anyone win.
Who made the whole deal with whom?
Who made the whole deal and with whom? Talking about it, he says that this deal was done by Ajit Pawar. Both Fadnavis and A are friends, Fadnavis and the central leadership. I doubt that these people are not happy with Shinde (Eknath) so they will drop him too. Shinde did not succeed. I am from Bombay and Shinde Group MLAs are offended. The people of Shinde group who are waiting to be made ministers stayed and became ministers of NCP because Shiv Sena’s quota has been cut, so quarrels have started within them too. In two days there will be many new elections in Maharashtra.

‘People say, everybody knows’
Do you think you are afraid of ED? In response to that, Jayant Boski says, comes in the media, people say. Everyone knows. In the Bhopal speech, the Prime Minister clearly said that he (Opposition) has a guarantee of scams, while Modi has a guarantee that every scam has been dealt with.
‘Entire NCP is in turmoil due to uncle-nephew fight’
Jayant Boski says what is going on in the NCP and the reason behind it, the entire NCP has become embroiled in the uncle-nephew fight. Also what happened in Shiv Sena will happen in NCP. All India knows that ED, CBI, everywhere this happens. No one wants to go to jail for defending himself but this party suffers.
What was the role of Praful Patel?
About Praful Patel’s role, he said that you have to see what goes on and what he does in his role. Everyone has some or the other problem and Prafulbhai has been a cabinet minister in the past so there must be something. BJP has 67 percent people from other parties, original people are very less.
‘One or two ministers will return to Pawar sahib’s camp’
What happened to your Sharad Pawar? It is said that, stop and wait has been said. Because there is a discussion that one or two ministers will return to Pawar sahib’s camp. The supporters of that area have fallen behind him.
‘No one has any grudges except ED and CBI’
Who is working hard to bring MLAs back to Sharad Pawar’s camp? He said that Supriya madam is working hard for this. There is only one simple theory: ED and CBI have no grudge against anyone. Today I have been president for 15 years, I have also been given a free hand. I have also received an offer to move to another party. Even today Aam Aadmi Party has contacted. My role will be important in Lok Sabha also in Gujarat.
‘Pawar Sahib already smelled it’
Sharad Pawar caught sleeping? In response to that question, Boski said that it is true. Pawar Sahib could already smell it. Chhagan Bhujbal, Praful Patel, Dilip Valse Patil did not go. Dilip Valase Patil grew up in his house. When Pawar Sahib was CM, he used to stay at CM Bungalow.
Who did Sharad Pawar trust? Who did Sharad Pawar trust? Regarding that, Jayant Boski said that he has placed a lot of trust on his nephew. Who is afraid? In response to the question, he says that some loophole must have been done during his tenure. I have been in politics since 1990 but have not left a single black mark.
Who is Jayant Boski?
Jayant Boski, who has been the state president of NCP Gujarat for the past 15 years, first won the assembly elections from Sarsa seat in 2007. After that, as per the new delimitation, Sarsa seat was canceled and Umreth seat came into existence and 14 villages of Sarsa assembly seat were added to it. Jayant Boski contested the election and became an MLA again in 2012 when there was an alliance between Congress and NCP. There was no alliance between Congress and NCP in 2017. So even when he fought NCP, he got 35700 votes. However, he was defeated. When in 2022, after the alliance between Congress and NCP, the Congress again allotted the Umreth seat to the NCP. In this election, he was defeated against BJP’s Govindbhai Parmar. Thus, he has also served as MLA for two terms.

Ajit Pawar was upset with Sharad Pawar’s stand for two years
Senior journalist Sukrit Karindikar, who understands NCP politics, said that ‘Ajit Pawar was not only upset by making Supriya the working president. He was upset with Sharad Pawar’s stand for two years.’
‘Three days ago, Sharad Pawar admitted that Ajit Pawar had formed the government with Devendra Fadnavis in 2019 only at his behest. However, since then, Ajit Pawar was being looked at with suspicion in the party.
On many occasions Sharad Pawar did not support Ajith…
In 2021, central agencies raided the homes of Ajit Pawar and his family members. It is said that Sharad Pawar did not help Ajith and distanced himself from the case. Ajith’s son Partha Pawar was also opposed by Sharad Pawar to contest the Lok Sabha elections from Maval seat.
Ajit Pawar was also upset by this. Parth was forced to give the ticket after seeing his attitude. According to sources close to the party, Ajit Pawar was upset that Partha was not supported in the field at the behest of Sharad Pawar and he lost the election.
Uncle-nephew rift 19 years old
The rift between Ajith and Sharad Pawar started in 2004. The NCP emerged as the single largest party in the assembly elections held this year. Then the party lost the chance to become the chief minister. Ajit Pawar then said that leaving the chief ministership in 2004 was the biggest mistake.
NCP got 71 seats and Congress got 69 seats in this election. That is why NCP should have got the chief ministership. Sharad Pawar spoke to the Congress and gave the chief ministership to the Congress. In return he held two cabinet posts and an additional post of Minister of State. This is where the rift started between Sharad Pawar and Ajit Pawar. In the 2009 elections too, Sharad Pawar and Ajit Pawar clashed over ticket distribution.
