New employment opportunities will be created in the state
On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that the Prime Minister has resolved to make India a global textile hub. One of the oldest industries in the world, the textile industry has chosen the path of modernization to suit the present times and keep pace with the times to come. With the mantra of ‘Sauna Saath, Sauna Vikas, Sauna Vishwas and Sauna Prayaas’, the Central and State Governments have moved on the path of development and are gearing up for holistic development. Expressing his happiness, he added that the mega integrated apparel park to be realized in 1141 acres at Vansi Borsi in Jalalpore taluk of Navsari district will boost the textile industry of Gujarat along with creating new employment opportunities in the entire state including South Gujarat. He expressed confidence that with the fast pace of development, PM Mitra Park will reach a new milestone of ‘Self-reliant Gujarat for self-reliant India’.
60 to 70 percent of denim fabric production in Gujarat
He further said that Gujarat has been an important center of textile production and trade. It is known worldwide as ‘Manchester of the East’, ‘Textile State of India’ and ‘Denim Capital of India’. Describing the achievements of Gujarat’s textile industry, he said that Gujarat occupies the second position in the total exports of textile industries of the country. Gujarat alone produces 60 to 70 percent of the country’s denim fabric, which ranks first in the country and third in the world. Also, Gujarat produces 37 per cent of cotton, contributing 60 per cent to exports from the country. Gujarat contributes 5 per cent to the total man made cotton fiber production of the country, while in case of synthetic fiber production Gujarat is leading as the largest contributing state with 30 per cent share in woven fiber production.
The park, which will be realized in 1141 acres, will be waiting for the new development
Describing the developmental policy of the state, he said that many new industrial parks including bulk drug park in Jambusar, medical device park in Rajkot, vehicle scrap recycling park in Bhavnagar, ceramic park in Morbi and agro food park in Banaskantha will make Gujarat’s development story brighter in the future. The Chief Minister expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister and the Union Industries Minister for choosing Gujarat for the establishment of PM Mitra Park, saying that the park to be realized here in 1141 acres will be a new hope for the development of the state including South Gujarat.
All the benefits under the industry promotion policy will be made available in the park
On this occasion, Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said that PM Mitra Park will become an outstanding industrial model. Where Central and State Governments will work together to increase investment in the textile industry, promote innovation, create employment opportunities, make India a global hub for textile production and export. All the benefits provided under the Industry Promotion Policy will be made available in the Park.
World class ‘plug and play’ infrastructure will be available in Navsari district
Further, while appreciating the development of Chomer in Gujarat, he said that Gujarat is top in areas like Logistics, National Start Up Index, Good Governance, Ease of Doing Business, Exports and there has been unprecedented development in infrastructure. Union Minister of State for Railways and Textiles Darshanaben Jardosh said that the objective of PM Mitra Park Yojana is to realize Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of building a self-reliant India and to give India a strong position on the global textile map.
Out of 86 investors included in the scheme, 13 investors are from Surat only
The Union Minister said that the PM Mitra Yojana will fulfill the Prime Minister’s vision of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ and put India at the forefront of the global map of the textile industry. Mitra Park will create an integrated textile value chain from spinning, weaving, processing/dyeing and printing to garment manufacturing at one location, under one umbrella. This integrated textile value chain will reduce the logistics costs of the industry. While the Government of India has approved a Product-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme for textile products, namely, MMF Apparel, MMF Fabrics and Technical Textile Products to increase India’s manufacturing capacity and boost exports, only 13 investors from Surat are among the 86 involved in the scheme.
Industry sector of Gujarat achieved many successes

MP C.R. Patil said that the state government has developed a system of providing facilities to industrialists and businessmen before they make their representations or demands.
