- Minister Mandaviya Hits Out At Rajkot: ‘We Don’t Take Cyclones Seriously, People In Orissa Make Evacuation Arrangements First’

The system is on alert mode as Cyclone Biparjoy moves towards Saurashtra coast. Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, who came to Rajkot today, also held a review meeting with the administration and related officials. Saurashtra received information about the situation in maritime districts including Porbandar, Jamnagar, Dwarka, and Kutch and reviewed all necessary health facilities. Along with this, the administration was also challenged by the minister to evacuate the people to a safe place in advance if necessary.
The probable route of the storm was shown by the collector
A review meeting was held in Rajkot by Minister Mansukh Mandaviya following Cyclone Biparjoy. In this meeting, Rajkot District Collector showed the possible route of the storm and provided information about the speed and direction of the storm. Apart from this, information was also given about all the hospitals and health facilities in the district and what preparations were made as part of vigilance. However, without giving any information about the evacuation, the minister said, “We do not take cyclones seriously. In Orissa, people face cyclones from time to time and they first make arrangements to evacuate to a safe place.”

Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, giving a statement about the storm, said that a cyclone system has formed in the Arabian Sea and Saurashtra is likely to hit Kutch. A review meeting was held at Rajkot today as a health emergency arises when any disaster occurs. If the necessary surgical instruments, team of doctors, etc. are already ready, we can treat the patient quickly and save people’s lives. If required, the medical team of Rajkot AIIMS will also come with the help of the state government and medical services will be completed.
2 helicopters are also kept on standby
Along with this today Rajkot district collector has ordered to cancel the leave of all government officials and stay on standby. 2 helicopters have also been kept on standby at Rajkot Airport by the Coast Guard specially to deal with it in case of an over-impact. If necessary, he will be sent to that place.
