The gross negligence of Smimmer Hospital in Surat has come to light. In which Aam Aadmi Party corporator and hospital committee member made a surprise visit to the hospital. In which it was revealed that medicines worth lakhs of rupees for poor and middle class patients are kept in the store room without any kind of temperature maintenance. Medicines are not maintained even though clear instructions are written on them. In this regard, the AAP leader said that if this medicine is given to the patient, his health may be compromised. If the patient gets a reaction after taking the medicine, who is responsible for it?

Speaking to Rajesh Jolia, Chairman of the Hospital Committee, Divya Bhaskar said, “It is not my concern whether there is a cold storage for keeping medicines or not.” Surprisingly, the chairman of the hospital committee does not even have complete information about the facilities of his hospital.

Medicines to be placed in cold storage appear lying in the store room
It is worth mentioning that the municipality spends crores of rupees in the management of Smimmer Hospital in Surat. However, many systems are lacking. Hundreds of thousands of patients are treated, there is no cold storage to store medicines. Medicines contain a lot of medicines that need to be kept at a certain temperature. There are also many injections that have to be kept at a fixed temperature so that their effect is maintained. The quantities of different types of medicine are kept at a certain temperature, but the situation is very bad in the Surat Municipal Hospital. The corporators of Aam Aadmi Party have alleged that the medicines which should be kept in cold storage at proper place are falling in the store room. Medicines worth millions of rupees are being used in this way.

There is also no system of post average for placing medicine: Cons
Aam Aadmi Party corporator and hospital committee member Rachna Hirpara said that today he along with his fellow corporator Mahesh Anghan came to visit the store room suddenly. When some of the medicines there were taken into hand, it was found that instructions were written on them that this medicine should be kept at a temperature of two to eight degrees Celsius, but gross negligence of the hospital management is seen. Medicines worth lakhs of rupees given to poor and middle class patients are lying in the store room without any kind of temperature maintenance. Even if clear instructions are written on medicines, if they are not maintained and administered to patients, their health may be compromised. If the patient gets a reaction after taking the medicine, who will take responsibility for it? There was a small refrigerator used at home. It was found that the temperature was not maintained. The drugs were found lying in the store room.

The chairman is unaware of whether there is a cold storage system or not
As soon as this matter came to mind, Rajesh Jolia, chairman of the hospital committee and R. like this. O. Tried to contact Jayesh Patel. In which even after calling him two to three times continuously on the mobile phone, he did not receive the call. After which Rajesh Jolia, chairman of the hospital committee received the call, the excerpts of the conversation are as follows.

DB: Does Smeer Hospital have cold storage facility?
Rajesh Jolia: I don’t know if there is cold storage in Smear Hospital.
DB: So where are the medicines that we keep at certain temperatures kept, to this day?
Rajesh Jolia: I don’t know if such drugs would be put in ICU.
DB: So until now, where did patients put the medicines that were instructed to keep them at a certain temperature?
Rajesh Jolia: According to me, because of the lack of cold storage, they might be keeping it in the store room.
DB: So what can happen now?
Rajesh Jolia: I have no information about the whole incident. I came to know only when your call came. I also take details of cold storage and where medicines are kept.

Rachna Hirpara.

What is surprising here is that the chairman of the hospital committee does not even have complete information about the facilities of his hospital. How can they manage the whole hospital if they don’t know whether their hospital has the cold storage facilities that are essential for storing medicines? A question is naturally arising on it. It is also clear from this that how aware they themselves are about the treatment given to the patient.
