Junagadh MLA Sanjay Kordia made a surprise visit to the civil hospital and many polls were exposed. The MLA inspected several wards of the hospital. Many doctors were absent then. Regarding this, Sanjay Kordia said, ‘These people are still not improving even after presenting to the Health Minister many times.’
MLA Sanjay Kordia turned red. Junagadh civil system failed in this surprise visit for the third time as well. Despite repeated phone calls by the MLA to the Dean of Civil, they did not pick up his call.
MLA Sanjay Kordia said that people complained about Junagadh Civil Hospital that OPD is closed in civil hospital after noon and people get annoyed. So most of the doctors who made a surprise visit were absent. Only two OPDs were open and doctors were absent in the remaining OPDs. On the other hand, patients were monitored by junior and senior staff instead of doctors who were absent.
He further said that the doctors of the civil hospital are also absent. Two hospital officials are running the hospital in a way that annoys people. People get confused but the doctors get money at home and these two officers get commission from it, these two officers are running the hospital and medical college by this method. If the matter is not rectified now then the Health Minister will be presented again on Monday.
Further, the MLA said that while talking to the doctors, they were told that the OPD is closed on Saturdays. But according to the government circular of 2022, OPDs have to be opened from 9 am to 1 am and 4 am to 8 am from Monday to Saturday. Also, there is a government circular to keep OPDs open for half a day on Sundays as well. Calling the medical superintendent, Naina Nakuman, told him that we have made an oral presentation. The MLA said that this is not a private firm or an oral presentation.
Meanwhile, after an hour, Superintendent Naina Nakuman came running after hearing about the MLA’s surprise visit to the Civil Hospital. Junagadh Civil Medical Superintendent Naina Nakum said that, it is often the case that the senior doctors are short of professors and often doctors are not present and those doctors who are present are on round the clock duty. Whenever a doctor is needed in an on-call emergency, a doctor is present. Doctors were absent during the MLA’s visit, regarding which Naina Nakoom said, I will investigate. I try my best that all doctors are present in civil.
