Vadodara LCB has seized foreign liquor worth Rs 26.35 lakh in a container from Vadodara toll booth on Express Highway and arrested one accused and initiated further action.

Containers cordoned off Vadodara LCB PI Krunal Patel got specific information that an icer container of a Bandbodi was loaded with Indian-made foreign liquor and the container was currently coming from Ahmedabad-Vadodara Express Highway towards Vadodara Toll Road. Following this, the LCB team set up a watch and blockaded the toll road on the express highway. As soon as the information container arrived, the police cordoned it off and took the driver out of the container and started questioning him.

26.35 lakhs during the seizure of liquor, the driver stated his name as Alcharam Tulsiram Jat (aged 31) (Resident of Adel Bhabhuo Ka Tala, Nokhada, District Barmer, Rajasthan). Police found 542 bottles of foreign liquor worth Rs 26,35,200 in the container. Apart from this, the police also seized a container and a mobile phone. The police seized the goods worth Rs 36.45 lakh and arrested the accused driver Alcharam Jat. LCB has handed over the accused to Manjusar police and started further investigation.

Liquor came to Rajasthan Police interrogated Ropi Alcharam Jat and found that the quantity of foreign liquor was given by Dedaram Narasingaram Jat (Rest. Sindhari, Dist. Barmer, Rajasthan) from Shivshakti Dhaba near Nagaur, Rajasthan and the mobile number of the driver of the car. He said that the quantity of liquor is to be taken to Vadodara and after reaching there, the liquor is to be delivered to the location given. The police have started searching for Dedaram Jat, who sent the liquor.
