CGST Kutch, helps people in every crisis. A helping hand was then extended to the people of Dholavira village and its surrounding areas affected by the ‘Biparjoy’ cyclone in Kutch. In which ration kits were distributed to 450 needy people in the locality and gave an example of the above noble purpose.
A team of around 30 officials comprising Additional, Joint, Deputy Assistant Commissioners, Superintendents and Inspectors led by the Kutch CGST Commissioner reached Dholavira, about 200 km from the Kutch Commissionerate headquarters. And the team distributed 450 grocery packets containing 5 kg wheat flour, 2 kg rice, 1 kg tuwer dal, 1 kg sugar, 1 kg gud, 250 gm tea, 1 liter cooking oil. , 2 kg potatoes, 2 kg onions, 250 g Parle-G biscuits and 10 liters of drinking water which can meet the food requirement for at least 10 days.
Notably, the severe cyclone had a widespread impact in Kutch, with strong winds ranging from 80 KMPH to 140 KMPH in the region, which uprooted hundreds of trees and electric poles across Kutch, causing prolonged power cuts. As a part of natural calamity relief, assistance was given at Durgam Dholavira of the district.
