Gumansingh alias Gago Narsingh Jhala, a perverted man from Kadoli, used to sexually harass minor women who were sleeping outside their houses in the village late at night. On 25-09-21 between two and three o’clock in the night, the minor was sexually harassed while she was sleeping in the open porch of the house. Besides, another person’s minor and two other women who were sleeping outside the house were also treated in the same way after a complaint was lodged by the police, four to five other women of the village, who were known to be of scheduled caste and of suitable age, were sleeping outside the house in an open chopard. It was revealed that he was sexually molested by touching.
The rural police registered a case under Section 354(a)(1)(I)(V), 447 of the POCSO Act and Section 12 of the Atrocity Act and Section 3 (1)(w)(1), 3(2) 5(a) of the Atrocities Act against Guman Singh. alias Gago Narsingh Jhala was detained. The DySP of SCST cell completed the investigation and presented the charge sheet along with the evidence, according to which the Special POCSO case was proceeding in the Second Additional Judge Special Court. The court’s second additional judge D V Shah sentenced Gumansingh alias Gago Narsingh Jhala to three years’ imprisonment under the Extortion and POCSO Act and Rs. 1000 fine and three years rigorous imprisonment for the offense under Section 3 (1)(w)(1),3(2) 5(a) of the Atrocities Act and Section 7 of the POCSO Act and a fine of Rs.1000 and one month imprisonment for the offense under IPC 447 and imposed a fine of Rs 250 and directed the Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority to take steps to determine and pay the amount of compensation due to the four women victims under the Victim Compensation Scheme.
