Whenever an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer is transferred for the sake of administrative convenience, he also transfers his preferred PI or PSI who have worked with him earlier. In the same way, many cases of written recommendation being made to the superior officers by their own personal recommendation or by adopting some other alternative route have come to the notice of the State Police Chief Vikas Sahai, he has issued a circular in which strict efforts have been made to stop such activities.

No longer recommended – development assistance
In different applications for transfer, superior officers also do it. PI – PSI is also done. On verification, it was found that the officer is also demanded to return to the place where he has worked. So this matter will not be encouraged. Every officer gets an opportunity to work everywhere and not to work with a single officer. A good officer can work everywhere. In a special conversation with Divyabhaskar, DGP Vikas Sahai said that the aim is to give everyone a chance everywhere in administrative terms.

Improper demand will not be encouraged
A circular dated June 2, 2023 under the signature of DGP Vikas Sahai has been issued, calling for specific PIs and PSIs in the State Police Force to be requisitioned by superiors and, in some cases, by the Head of Office to verify such submissions to police officers who have served with them earlier. It is proposed to give appointment at the office under his control. It has been mentioned within the circular that such submissions will not be encouraged if such demand is not appropriate.

The officer who has completed the suspension is requisitioned by the officer of the same office
Apart from this, it has been noticed during the investigation that police officers who have been reinstated on suspension are being re-requested by the head of the same office during which they have been suspended. But it is also clearly mentioned in the circular that no incentive will be given from here.

Also presentation of demand by name
Similarly, whenever an officer is asked to be named, whether they have previously served in a district or city or unit? Replacement is recommended without verifying its service information. It has been mentioned within the circular that even the cases brought to the notice of the State Police Chief will not be encouraged from now on.
