There was heavy rain in Surat city. Due to this, water fell like rain from the roof of the office for extracting disabled certificate and Ayushman card in Surat New Civil Hospital on the belongings including computers. So the security guard ran away. The water had to be scooped out with tubs and buckets.
Water began to drip from the roof due to the torrential rain
According to the details obtained, the operations including issuance of disability certificate and issuance of card under Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana are done in an office near the inquiry department in the old OPD building in the new civil hospital. However, rain water started dripping from the roof of the office of Divyang Certificate in Civil due to torrential rain.
Computer, papers got wet
The water from the ceiling fell on the computers, papers and necessary things in the office and got wet. With this, the office was flooded. However, when the other employees came to know about this, they ran away and when they opened the office and came inside, they were shocked to see the entire office filled with water.
The overflowing water was pumped out by filling tubs and buckets
As soon as the employees informed the civil officer, three cleaners were sent to drain the water from the office. Later, the water in the office was taken out by filling tubs and buckets. It is to be noted that, a few days ago, water fell in the office from the roof. Later water again fell in the office. Due to such circumstances, the employees working there are suffering.
Repairs made: Superintendent
Superintendent of Surat Civil Hospital Ganesh Govekar said, yes, immediate action was taken after the incident was reported. The roof has also been repaired by the PIU department.
