The Indian Army has been geared up to provide relief to the locals after the landfall of the deadly Cyclone Biparjoy in Gujarat. All preparations have been made by the Indian Army to reduce the hardships faced by people during natural calamities.
Relief operations were rehearsed
Relief operations were rehearsed at places including Bhuj, Jamnagar, Gandhidham, Dhrangadhra, Vadodara, Gandhinagar, Nalia, Byra and Amerli and all items including food items have been kept ready.
Joint relief operation by NDRF
Relief operations have been jointly organized by Indian Army and NDRF. Such an exercise has given a platform to all agencies involved in disaster management to share their best practices and benefit from each other. Representatives of the Indian Army also attended the meeting chaired by the Chief Minister and promised full cooperation in times of emergency.
Resources have also been made available from the neighboring state of Rajasthan to ensure that damage due to gusty winds and heavy rains is minimized.
