An illegal laboratory called Red Plus was seized by the health department team in a shop behind a veterinary hospital in Umrala taluk of Bhavnagar district. A case was registered against two persons including the manager of the laboratory at Umrala police station.

According to the information received from the Umrala police station, PHC medical officer Margiben Rashmikumar Bavisi filed a complaint in the Umrala police station that after coming to the notice of the health department that an illegal laboratory named Red Plus was running behind the animal hospital of Umrala in Bhavnagar district for the last two years, the departmental deputy director Health and Medical Services Dr. M.J. Fancy, District Epidemiological Officer Dr. A team including S.N. Patel and Dr. Margiben Rashmikumar Bavishi, Medical Officer of Ranghola PHC, inspected the residential house owned by Pragjibhai Laljibhai Miyani, where Mohammad Irfan Mohammad Khorjia, Ruvapari, was operating a laboratory under the name Red Plus despite not having proper qualifications. As many as 40 laboratory tests were conducted unofficially
Also, around 3.5 kg of biological waste was also found in the laboratory. An investigation by a health department team revealed that the ISAM had tampered with people’s health by conducting as many as 40 laboratory tests without proper qualifications. A case under IPC 269, 270 and 114 was registered against both the men in Umrala police station.
