Today at Pandit Dindayal Upadhyay Town Hall, Surendranagar under the chairmanship of Union Minister Dr. Mahendrabhai Munjpara, distribution program of employment appointment letters, apprenticeship contract letters and employment fair was held. Union Minister Dr. Mahendrabhai Munjapara while addressing this employment fair organized by the Department of Labour, Skill Development and Employment as a joint initiative of the district administration said that through this employment fair, a total of 739 candidates have been awarded employment letters and 117 candidates have been awarded apprenticeship contracts.

A total of nine job fairs have been organized till June 2023 during the year 2023-24. So far, 16,492 people of the district have been employed through a total of 199 recruitment fairs. Today more than 50 companies from the district and outside the district have participated in the job fair with more than 1500 vacancies. On this occasion, the Minister thanked all the employers for creating new employment opportunities for the youth of the district. Talking about the functions of the employment office, he said, today, through the employment office, golden job opportunities are available to the job seekers at home. Even in tough times like Corona, the employment office conducted online recruitments. In which 10th pass, 12th pass, ITI, training classes for youth who want to join defense forces are also organized through the employment office.

He further added that other information including interview related information is also available extensively through Karmayogi online portal of Government of India. A total of 385 types of occupations have been included under the e-Labour Card by the central government, including hawkers, retail labourers, lorry gallawalas, farmers, agricultural labourers, small businessmen. The government also provides an accident insurance of 2 lakh rupees to the poor under the e-Shram card. The beneficiary does not have to pay any premium amount for it.

Talking about the emerging opportunities of employment and self-employment, he mentioned the government’s initiatives like Mudra Yojana, Startup India, Stand Up India. He further said that today the youth of the country is becoming a job creator. India has the largest number of young people in the world today. He expressed optimism that he would fulfill India’s dream of becoming a world guru. District Employment Officer M.J. Prajapati gave a welcome address to the program and ITI, Surendranagar Nodal Principal P. K. Shah delivered the program’s vote of thanks. A total of 693 candidates were preliminarily selected in the job fair held today.

In this employment fair, Municipal President Virendrabhai Acharya, leading Sarv Jayesh Patel, Mahendra Patel, Mehul Choksi, Personal Secretary Amritesh K. Aurangabadkar (IAS), District Village Development Agency Director RM Raijada along with employers and job aspirants were present.
