Corruption has once again been exposed in the housing scheme of the Rajkot Municipal Corporation. In which rain water has entered people’s houses within 8 months of its launch in Manpai Awas Yojana near Sheetal Park. And as the heavy humidity descended, the locals panicked due to the fear of electrocution. The residents expressed their anger before the media. However, after this incident came to light, the mayor has ordered an investigation. But it remains to be seen when the operation takes place.

Shaheed Sukhdev Township was launched near Sheetal Park of the city under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and Chief Minister Griha Yojana on September 30 last i.e. 8 months ago. 6 of the 16 wings of this three-bed accommodation are the most populated. Hirenbhai Kothari, who lives here, said that under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, this accommodation worth Rs.18.60 lakh has been handed over to us one and a half months ago. However, rainwater has entered the house in the first monsoon here. Moisture from AC points and switch boards increases the risk of electric shock.

In addition, he said, the maintenance in Manpa Rs. Even after paying 60 thousand per month per house still Rs. 300 has to be given. Besides, water is also a problem. There are two bores here. One bore is 800 feet and the other is 500 feet. As this water is not finished, 8 tankers are coming from Manpa. which is inadequate. Even that tanker has not come for two days due to rain. So that the private tanker’s Rs. 300 instead of Rs. 600 has to be paid. Then there is a demand that the bore should be deepened.

Another resident Deepenbhai Garhia said, at the beginning of our first monsoon, water is leaking from the hall and room windows and entering the house. It is difficult for us to be safe here if this kind of situation remains for the whole monsoon. In the whole matter, Mayor Dr. Pradeep Dove said that Shaheed Sukhdev has become a new township. So first CT engineer will go for site inspection. In which, if poor construction is seen, the builder will be urged and the tanker will also be started by removing the leakage problem.
