The Surat Crime Branch team caught a habitual accused snatching mobile phones from the hands of people walking on a bike early in the morning. This Issam used to come in Dhoom style and snatch mobile phones from people’s hands. The police have seized two bikes and two mobile phones from the accused in total worth Rs 2.50 lakh. The police investigation has also resolved the differences between the two crimes.
The Surat Crime Branch team started the investigation
In the city of Surat, there were incidents of bikers snatching mobile phones from the hands of pedestrians and running away in style. Apart from this, for the last month or so, there were incidents of two men on a Pulsar motorcycle riding a Pulsar motorcycle early in the morning snatching mobile phones from the hands of people who were walking in Singanpore area of Surat city and fled away at high speed. So, the Surat Crime Branch team started the investigation in this matter. The team of Surat Crime Branch investigated on the basis of CCTV footage and it was found that the snatchers coming on bikes were coming from Amroli Kosad and returning to Amroli Kosad. Accordingly, the crime branch police officers with their men were on daily watch from early morning.
A total of 2.50 lakhs including two bikes were seized
Meanwhile, the Surat Crime Branch team, on the basis of a tip-off, arrested the habitual accused Sadiq alias Kalu Salim Shaikh (age 26), who had gone out from Singanpore area with the intention of selling snatched mobile phones and had been arrested for the crime of stealing mobile phones several times before. The police found two mobile phones and two bikes used in the snatching from the accused and seized a total of Rs 2.50 lakh. The police investigation also resolved the differences between the two crimes registered at Singanpore police station.
Snatching the mobile phone, they would run away in a hurry
The police, after strictly questioning the accused, revealed that the accused Sadiq alias Kalu Salim Sheikh along with his friend Latif Usman Diwan, on two different motorcycles in Singanpore area, snatched the mobile phones from the hands of the pedestrians and fled at high speed on their Pulsar motorcycle. Surat Crime Branch has handed over the custody of the accused to Singanpore Police and taken legal action.
