Due to the religious festivals, fasts and festivals coming in the month of Ashadha, there is a huge increase in the demand of various feet. Due to which, the prices of different types of feet are seeing a drastic increase in the foot markets of Patan. On the other hand, due to heavy rains across Gujarat, the price of a foot sold at Rs 40 to Rs 50 on normal days has skyrocketed.
Ashadha Sud Aghiaras is a combination of fasting as well as various religious festivals. Then there is an increase in the demand for fruits due to fasting during fasts and religious festivals. The five-day Gaurivrat has already started. Then the price of banana which is sold at the price of 30 to 40 rupees per dozen on normal days has reached 60 to 80 rupees. So the prices of different types of mangoes are also seeing a price increase of 50 to 60 percent.
Apart from this, there is a drastic increase in other fruits including apple, pear, kharek. The price of kharek, which is sold at Rs 40 to Rs 50 on normal days, has gone up to Rs 80. While the price of apples has reached 200 rupees per kg. Due to the upcoming religious festivals, there is a rise in the price of feet in the markets of Patan city.
