  • Only those who completed 6 years on 1st June would get admission, only 1426 children went to school.

After the central government implemented the new education policy across the country, the state government has implemented this policy from the academic year 2023-24. In the current year, only children who complete 6 years by June 1 have been admitted to the first standard, while children who have completed 6 years before June 1. Bal Vatika has been started for the first time by the State Government Education Department as a one-year pre-primary course for children who have not completed 6 years. However, the number of 6-year-old children is very less in the time frame set by the government for class 1 this year.

In the current year, only 1426 students have been admitted in the primary school of Morbi district in class one. According to the number of talukas, 499 children were admitted from Morbi city and taluka, 118 students from Malia, 99 students from Tankara, 412 students from Wakaner city, while 362 students from Halwad were able to get admission in class 1. The number of admissions in class 1 this year is so low that many schools do not have enough students in class 1.

Admission of the child is possible only after 6 years by May 31
Also there are some children whose 6th year is not completed in May but completed in June or July, the study time of such children will be extended by one year, as children till 31st May can enter first year but only from 1 day thereafter. Born before the 15th or 20th, who are already six years old, they have been denied admission to the first grade.

Some children have to study in Balvatika for one year
On the other hand, pre-primary course has been started for children who have not completed 6 years according to new guidelines this year, in which 8718 children were eligible for admission this year, out of which 8235 children have been admitted. A very large number of these children are those who were 5 years old on May 31 but turned 6 years old on June 15 or June 20. Such students will have to study in Balwatika for one year.

Enrollment in private schools under RTE also declined
According to the new education policy this year, 25 percent of seats in private schools under RTE are reserved for poor and needy children and such children are given free education.

Not a single child will be admitted to many schools
There are many schools in the district where not a single child got admission in class 1 or only got admission in single digits. Due to this, second class studies have started with the start of schools. But since the number of students in the first class is less, such students are being studied together in the second class. Since this number is less in the current year, the number of children admitted this year is likely to remain the same in the school in the coming years too, i.e. if a school in which no student has been admitted in the first class this year, there is a possibility that the class in the second class of the next year will remain vacant. has been
