Four children who were playing on the shore had to swim in the lake of Dodivada village near Matoda in Sabarkantha district’s Khedbrahma taluka around Saturday evening. Then suddenly the children who had to bathe started drowning in the lake. Out of which two children got out. Meanwhile, while the brother was drowning in the water, both the brother and the sister drowned while trying to save the sister. On being informed about the incident, the villagers and family members reached the lake shore and the KhedBrahma police informed the municipality and the municipality informed the fire department. Due to which the fire brigade reached the place of the incident and took out the dead bodies of the brothers and sisters.

The details about this are that four children of Dodivada village near Matoda were playing on the shore of the lake around Saturday evening. Then had to bathe in the lake water. Out of which two children got out. When Bhavesh Vishnubhai Bubdia (Uv. 12) who had to bathe in the water of the lake, he drowned in the water. His sister Sandhya Vishnubhai Bubdia (age-10) saw her brother Bhavesh drowning and jumped into the water to save her and drowned. Thus both the brothers and sisters drowned in the water of the lake. Meanwhile, the family and villagers came to know about this incident and immediately rushed to the lake shore. After that KhedBrahma police informed the municipality, the municipality informed the fire department. As soon as the call was received, the fire brigade reached the lake at Dodivada village near Matoda, 10 km from KhedBrahma. A search was conducted for the bodies of both the drowned brothers and sisters. Meanwhile, the bodies of the brother and sister were found late in the evening. Both the bodies were handed over to their families.

In this regard, Santosh Patel, fire jawan of KhedBrahma fire department, said that late on Saturday evening, the fire department received a call that two children had drowned in the lake of Dodivada village. With that, they reached the scene of the incident and searched for the dead body. The bodies of the siblings were recovered late in the evening. So four children had to bathe in the lake. Out of which two children got out and while trying to save a brother from drowning, the sister drowned in the water of the lake. Both the bodies were handed over to their families.
