Cyclone Biparjoy is threatening north Gujarat including the coastal areas. Banaskantha district will also see its impact as this storm is predicted to spread towards Kutch. Due to which there is a possibility of heavy rain and storm situation in the district. In order to maintain emergency internal communication in the event of storm and heavy rains, a system of wireless sets has been set up at the Mamlatdar office in all the 7 provincial officers’ areas of the district. Wireless sets have been set up in Banaskantha district’s Suigam, Tharad, Dhanera, Palanpur, Disa, Danta and Deodar areas to maintain communication during the storm.

Banaskantha District Collector Varunkumar Baranwal and District Development Officer Swapnil Khare today visited Dantiwada and Sipu dam site and low-lying areas of Dhanera city in the district to check the pre-preparedness against the possible effects of Cyclone Biparjoy and directly inspected the preparations made by the system against the cyclone. He also obtained technical information including water storage capacity of both Dantiwada and Seepu dams and arrangements for opening and closing the dam gates. It may be mentioned here that the Collector and District Development Officer personally visited the low-lying areas where severe flooding occurred in Dhanera town in the year 2017 due to the heavy rains in the uplands and instructed the concerned officials of the local administration to take all necessary measures for the safety of people and property. was given
