The number of drivers violating traffic rules in Surendranagar district is increasing day by day. On the other hand, the RTO is also taking action against the drivers who violate the rules. Then, from April 2022 to March-2023, a total of 1191 memes were issued by the RTO. But out of that still 1446 Mema drivers got Rs. More than 1.35 crores are pending government books. However, the drive to collect fines against such drivers has also been started by the system.

In Surendranagar district the area is increasing along with the population. Against which small and big vehicles are also increasing. Then there are issues including traffic problems on the main roads including highways of the district. And the drivers are also running the vehicles by violating many rules. Then the RTO system will issue a penalty against such drivers. But in the district, drivers are also satisfied with RTO’s mema only. Because, most of the heavy vehicles in the district were fined for breaking rules including overloading. A total of 1191 MEMAs were issued by the RTO from April 2022 to March-2023 in the district. But out of that still 1446 memas are received by the drivers Rs. Shocking details of non-payment of over 1.35 crores were revealed.

Surendranagar RTO officer PK Patel said that various types of cases are made against the drivers. In which cases of overloading (loading more goods than capacity), overdimension (prescribed height, width, length) and violation of permit of passenger buses etc. have been done.
